Data Specialist
The Data Collection/Training Specialist for the Native Connections program is a full-time, 100% level of effort to ensure program activities, scheduling and trainings provide the public with the best possible means to reduce the impact of mental and substance use disorders, foster culturally responsive models that reduce and respond to the impact of trauma in Al/AN communities, and allow Al/AN communities to facilitate collaboration among agencies to support youth as they transition into adulthood. The data collection/training specialist will be responsible for identifying and coordinating project training activities in collaboration with advisory boards, partners, youth, and community stakeholders and based on community needs and readiness assessments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify trainings appropriate for the audience (youth, provider, advisory team, or adult community member) schedule and publicize the schedule (youth, family, provider, etc.).
- Collection and management of data as a result of project activities; these include number of participants attending or participating in training, community events that include project staff and/or have engaged project staff to obtain information about the project.
- Data collection will include using various methods such as surveys, questionnaires, interviews and observations and will be entered on a spreadsheet or into a database.
- As a Data Collection Specialist, you will be responsible for gathering and organizing data from various sources to ensure that it is accurate, comprehensive, and ready for analysis and meets reporting requirements.
- Keep track of program progress and report to supervisor on a regular basis to ensure data is collected within defined timelines.
- Coordinate with the Project Community Researcher/Evaluator to collect quantitative and qualitative data pertinent to the progress and process to achieve the goals or the project as noted in the Evaluation design.
- Identify training needs, develop training programs, and deliver training sessions to employees. Some of the key responsibilities include: Conducting training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and areas for program improvement - Designing and developing training programs to address specific training needs - Delivering training sessions to employees, either in-person or virtually - Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications Required:
- Must have a 2-year degree in mental health, social work-related programs or IT is preferred.
- Must have two (2) years of experience assisting with budgeting, reporting and managing or administering grant activities.
- Must possess a ND Drivers license and proof of insurance.
- Must have an understanding of the Chippewa culture and how it strengthens program activities.
- Must be familiar with community resources on the Turtle Mountain Reservation.
- Must be willing to obtain Sources of Strength training.
- Must be willing to travel in-state and out-of-state.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must have essential computer skills including MS Word and Excel as well as database management systems.
- Must be in good employment standing at current or previous employment position.
