Data Center Services TechnicianNorthern Virginia (Manassas, Chantilly, Ashburn, Herndon, Haymarket, Sterling, Stoneridge, Bull Run, and Dulles)$22-24/hr.Short-term ContractJOB OVERVIEWWe are seeking Data Center Services Technicians to support a portfolio of high-impact enhancement projects across our Fortune 10 client&s Data Centers in the Northern Virginia region. These initiatives are designed to modernize and optimize the client&s technical infrastructure, reinforcing reliability, efficiency, and performance across their facilities. As a key player in these efforts, you will execute a variety of hands-on tasks including fiber cabling, rack and stack operations, equipment installations and removals, and airflow optimization through Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) solutions.The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-driven professional with a passion for physical infrastructure, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful upgrades within world-class data centers-while gaining highly marketable experience in infrastructure delivery at scale.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in carpentry, mechanics, construction, HVAC, or general contracting are a plus.Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and diagrams.Proficient in using a tape measure to take precise measurements, including down to 1/16th of an inch.Skilled in using hand and power tools for fabrication, assembly, and installation.Strong problem-solving abilities with a demonstrated history of creating solutions based on technical documentation.Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in conditions ranging from 90-120 degrees.Comfortable working in small spaces, climbing ladders, and performing tasks at elevated heights.Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability for quality and accuracy in their work.RESPONSIBILITIESAssemble and install Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) systems, ensuring proper airflow management to maintain cooling efficiency.Install and decommission racks, servers, network switches, and other IT hardware across various data center environments.Route and secure fiber optic cabling according to project standards and client specifications.Inspect, maintain, and repair HAC and other infrastructure components to ensure ongoing operational integrity.Support technical site enhancements, environmental improvements, and physical layout adjustments as needed.Work from technical drawings and collaborate with leads to execute projects on time and according to specification.Maintain organized documentation and report accurate measurements, tasks, and configurations.Enforce safe tool usage and promote team accountability regarding quality and safety standards.Maintain a clean, organized work environment and manage tools and equipment responsibly.EXPECTATIONSAs a Data Center Infrastructure Technician, you will be expected to:Strictly commit to following and upholding all data center security protocols. You will be briefed on all security protocols and expectations daily.Adhere rigorously to the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policy. Proper PPE will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own Composite Toe Shoes if you already own them.Remain flexible and adaptable to unexpected Blocked and Restricted workdays dictated by the client due to major holidays or world events. These workdays will be communicated with as much notice as possible but will be unpaid.Be part of an agile team that is not stationary and follows a schedule. The schedule is created based on allocated data centers and the work associated with each location. You will move from data center to data center according to the schedule, spending varying lengths of time at each site (eg, one week at one data center, three days at another, and a week and a half at another).
