Data Center Operations Manager - Amazon : Job Details

Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Data Center Operations Manager. We are looking for a talented individual to oversee and enhance the efficiency of our data center operations.

About AWS: AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. Our team ensures that customers have continuous access to cutting-edge cloud solutions while tackling complex supply chain challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operationally manage one or more of Amazon's Data Centers during day shifts.
• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to technicians and operators.
• Coordinate change management resources and guide data staff on service best practices.
• Manage, deliver, and scale projects effectively while overseeing policies and procedures to meet industry standards and required SLAs.
• Lead a diverse team of data technicians; recruit and train staff as necessary to ensure optimal staffing levels.
• Host weekly staff meetings and deliver performance reviews for team members.
• Prepare weekly reports for data center leadership and maintain on-call schedules for staff.

A Day in the Life: Your focus will be on maintaining safety standards and process efficiency within your team and across the site. You will manage daily operational tasks, individual escalations, and improvement initiatives while collaborating with various teams and external partners. Data analytics and performance metrics will be central to your discussions with business leaders.

Basic Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing people in a technical setting.
• 3+ years of networking experience with knowledge of cabling best practices.
• 3+ years of experience in hardware architecture and troubleshooting.
• 3+ years of experience with system management tools in client/server environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a Data Center environment.
• Project management experience.

The base pay ranges from $96,900 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $216,800 per year in our highest geographic market, with total compensation including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive benefits.
