Overview
Data Center Facility Operations Specialist (Non-IT) position located in Canton, MS. Base pay range listed is $29.00/hr - $33.00/hr. Final pay will be based on skills and experience.
Responsibilities
- On-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring work is performed in accordance with established practices and procedures.
- Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance.
- Coordinate projects with managers and other business leaders to manage capacity and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Operate and manage routine and emergency services on data center systems including switchgear, generators, UPS, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/air handling units, building monitoring systems, etc.
- Serve as first escalation point for facilities-related issues for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) items.
- Perform maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment using detailed technical procedures; ensure safety procedures are followed.
- Manage and respond to ticketing queue based on priority and risk to customers.
- Monitor equipment and site via Building Management System (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS), and local HMI.
- Assist in design and build-out of new facilities and in projects to improve facility efficiency.
- Responsible for asset and inventory management.
- Assist in recruiting efforts as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or Technical (Military/Trade School) degree with relevant experience.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong leadership and organizational skills; attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical and/or HVAC trade certifications or 5+ years of data center or mission-critical facilities experience (examples: hospital, military facility, public safety facility).
- Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout, and low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range is the compensation range the employer reasonably believes it would pay at posting for this role. The range may be modified in the future. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), life and disability insurance. Salaried personnel may have paid time off; hourly employees PTO eligibility varies by law. Eligible for paid sick leave on Service Contract Act projects.
