Apply via Dice today!Job DescriptionThe Data Center Build Engineering Team designs and builds physical data center infrastructureto create capacity that supports Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in different regions around the world.This is an area that we need strong expertise in layer 1 networking, data center facilities (i.e.;power, cooling), structured cabling solutions and vendor management with a history of buildingand or supporting physical data center low voltage infrastructure. The Oracle CloudInfrastructure team is looking for a Regional Data Center Build Engineer to join our team,someone who innovates & shares our passion for winning in the cloud marketplace. You willwork closely with the data center development organization and Oracle vendors to build out,maintain and operationally improve the cloud infrastructure.DutiesCoordinate implementation and support efforts for new and existing Oracle data centersOnsite vendor management to deliver build out of data center infrastructureCreate and maintain documentation relating to cabling and build standards for data centerinfrastructureReview Bill Of Materials to determine project scope of workCreation of project scope of work to be distributed to vendors to obtain quotesParticipate in vendor bidding and selection processDesign and implement innovative structured cabling solutions for new data center buildsand expansionsManage multiple concurrent projectsDeliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processesWork closely with our Program Management team to ensure project deliverables are metand a good customer experience is providedCollaborate with key project stakeholdersParticipate in vendor quarterly business reviewsResponsibilitiesDesired SkillsExperience designing and deploying complete data center physical plant cabling systemsFamiliar with TIA Data Center Cabling StandardsExperience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologiesKnowledge of network cabling, fiberoptic types and transceiver typesExperience installing and troubleshooting bulk fiberoptic cablingExperience with installation and planning of all infrastructure within the data center thewhite spaceBroad understanding of infrastructure technologiesStrong track record of successful vendor management across multiple vendors in variouslocationsExperience using test equipment such as VFL, power meter, and OTDRThorough understanding of Cat 5, Cat 6 and OM1 - OS2 fiber optic cabling systemsKnowledge of data center critical environment electrical InfrastructureKnowledge of colocation data center critical environment mechanical infrastructureExperience in development of RFI/RFQ/RFPs for requesting vendor quotingQualificationsDisclaimer:Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations onlyUS: Hiring Range in USD from: $95,000 to $199,500 per annum. • Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
