Location Primary: Virtual, Illinois

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Data Architect / Principal Data Engineer IV for our premier client in Virtual, Illinois.

• 10 - 20 Years
• Bachelor's degree in computer science/information systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate ideas effectively to management, business and IT sponsors, and technical teams in appropriate language.
• Fundamental understanding of distributed computing principles.

• Knowledge in Business Intelligence - Data Engineering.
• Conceptual understanding of big data technologies, metadata management, ETL tools, BI and reporting, messaging systems, data warehousing, SQL, Java, version control, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, cloud, REST API design.
• Experience with DBT/Snowflake (4-5 years).
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead meetings.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

• Analytical skills.
• Experience with DataStage, Dataiku, AFS systems (Level III or Vision).

• Technical degree or relevant work experience.
• Experience in gathering and analyzing system requirements.
• Knowledge of data mining, segmentation, programming languages (C, PHP, etc.), database technologies (SQL, Oracle, etc.), security concepts, and best practices.

• Design and implement database solutions and models.
• Evaluate client operations and applications to determine database needs.
• Build and maintain company databases, ensuring security and efficiency.
• Collaborate with DBAs and analysts for data access.
• Create design reports, oversee migrations, monitor system performance, and recommend improvements.
• Train staff and prepare architecture reports.
• Respond to system issues promptly.
