Required Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of professional experience in designing & architecting Data & Analytics solutions
• Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services (Databricks, Azure Synapse/SQL Server, ADF or close equivalents)
• Working experience with Microsoft Power BI (Power BI Platform, AAS/Tabular)
• Expert understanding of relational databases, Data Warehouse & Data Lake modeling techniques & concepts, ETL/ELT processing patterns, and Big Data technologies
• Practical experience in designing systems to handle large data volumes
• Working knowledge of Python, PySpark, SOL & T-SOL

Responsibilities

• Working with a modern Azure Cloud data platform providing subject matter expertise in designing & architecting an analytical solution
• Providing overall direction, guidance, and high-level definition of technical solutions to data engineers
• Providing mentoring and coaching to Data
• Engineering and Data Science Teams (establishing standards & best practices, efficient usage of Azure service, data modeling, efficient ETL design patterns)
• Providing technical support for performance tuning and optimization activities
• Participating in the creation and maintenance of technical roadmaps
• Participation in PoCs and evaluations of new technologies
• Working with Information Security Architect to develop and implement application or solution information security architectures

Soft Skills

• Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate those into effective technical solutions, strategic and tactical directions
• Ability to mentor and provide leadership to team members
• Ability to facilitate discussion between technical and business staff
• Agile mindset and willingness to learn new tools

Other

• Experience working in agile methodologies
• Git version control

Nice To Have

• Experience in managing Apache Airflow
• Experience with CI/CD tools (preferably Azure DevOps)
• Experience in JIRA and Confluence

Pay The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $130,000 - $195,000. In addition, for the current performance period, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Benefits: As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time. You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of employment with the Company. In addition, you are eligible to participate in the Company 401(k) Plan after 30 days of employment, in accordance with the applicable plan terms.
