- Responsible for creating and disseminating high-quality reporting for audits, compliance, and internal business lines.
- Build actionable reports using custom, sometimes unstructured, data requests by collecting, cleaning and interpreting data from various sources throughout the bank.
- Analyze digital banking trends, maintains critical reports and builds workflows to support operational efficiency and customer initiatives.
Job Requirements for the Data Analyst:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience and/or aptitude preferably within a financial institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience or equivalent.
- Experience translating complex business needs into data requirements.
- Experience analyzing complex business processes and business lines to determine the best way of distilling information into usable management reports.
- Deep familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
- Knowledge of complex data extraction and database design techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills to interpret complex information requests and synthesize complicated requirements from multiple sources.
- Preferred experience with Cognos Analytics report building.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities for the Data Analyst:
- Identify and analyze business needs, develop reporting requirements and parameters that assist in driving business decisions.
- Translate business needs into concrete management reports that are accurate and timely and fulfill the required objectives.
- Work within large datasets to produce actionable management reports and validate data completeness/quality.
- Build and maintain automated or ad hoc reports and dashboards using various data systems for audits, internal controls, and business lines.
- Analyze customer behavior and usage patterns across digital banking platforms (online, mobile, debit card, ATM, etc.) to support user experience improvements and adoption strategies.
- Assist with presentation and analysis of information created with key stakeholders to develop comprehensive understanding of key metrics contained within reporting output.
- Create workflows to streamline and improve data collection.
- Provide data-driven recommendations for improved operational efficiency, customer experience, marketing effectiveness or other opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with business lines to ensure data integrity and alignment with business needs.
- Independently handle complex business requests with minimal supervision.
