Cybersecurity Engineer - South Dakota Board of Regents : Job Details

DSU is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in protecting the DSUs systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. The Cybersecurity Engineer will manage vulnerability management programs, oversee the Security Operations Center (SOC), and participate in security assessments and audits to ensure the highest level of information security. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and provide input on secure systems, networks, and applications. Develop security requirements and architecture patterns for new projects. Recommend and enforce security best practices across IT infrastructure. Deploy, configure, and maintain security solutions such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/ IPS, firewalls, SOAR, and vulnerability management platforms. Coordinate and oversee tuning of tools to reduce false positives and improve detection fidelity.
