Cybersecurity Data Protection Engineer (REMOTE) - Geico - Government Employees Insurance Company : Job Details

Support the implementation of data protection strategies, including classification, encryption, access control, and retention. Perform structured and unstructured data discovery, classification, and mapping across environments and data stores (e.g., Saas apps, databases, cloud platforms). Assist in identifying and addressing data protection risks and supporting regulatory and policy requirements (e.g., NYDFS, PCI). Support the development and maintenance of encryption processes for data at rest and in transit, including documentation and process tracking. Assist in managing DSPM tools (e.g., Cyera, Laminar, Symmetry Systems, Big. ID) and integrating them into CI/ CD pipelines and hybrid/cloud environments. Collaborate with the Sec. Ops team to triage, investigate, and remediate DSPM alerts using SIEM and SOAR tools (e.g., Splunk, IBM Q - Radar, Palo Alto XSOAR). Assist in automating repetitive security tasks using Python, PowerShell, or other scripting tools.
