The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City. PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Division of Information Technology aims to align technology solutions with the DOHMH mission by prioritizing resource use and deploying innovations that facilitate the agency's day-to-day activities and enhance staff productivity and efficiency. Our goal is to provide users with a reliable, stable, and safe computing environment, through the collaboration of the Bureau of Technology Strategy & Project Management provides business analysis and IT project management services to define and deliver IT solutions that meet all program needs. POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Security Junior Project Manager to support the planning, execution, and delivery of cybersecurity projects. This role will work closely with senior project managers, security engineers, and various stakeholders to ensure that security initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts and project management principles, coupled with strong organizational and communication skills. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Support: Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets for IT security initiatives.
  • Coordination: Coordinate project activities, resources, and information with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, risk logs, issue logs, and meeting minutes.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track project progress, identify potential deviations from the plan, and assist in preparing regular status reports for management.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of project objectives and updates.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Support the identification, tracking, and mitigation of project risks and issues related to cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure project activities adhere to organizational security policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Assist in managing relationships with security vendors and external consultants, including tracking deliverables and ensuring adherence to contracts.
  • Meeting Facilitation: Schedule and facilitate project meetings, including preparing agendas and distributing follow-up actions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in an IT, cybersecurity, or project coordination role. Experience in a security-focused environment is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, common threats, and security technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection, vulnerability management).
    • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
    • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with diverse stakeholders.

SALARY
  • Salary range is $70,000 to $85,000
