Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company, is seeking a Cyber Security Design Engineer based in Billerica, MA.

Responsibilities
- Assess and define cyber security design requirements for border and transportation security products within a standardized security framework.
- Analyze and report on security risks, proposing improvements.
- Educate product design staff and stakeholders on cyber security impacts.
- Develop innovative solutions to secure networked products used in diverse settings.
- Participate in developing and executing product test protocols to evaluate vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret security test results and identify fixes.
- Assess product vulnerabilities to emerging threats, identify root causes, and communicate findings internally and externally.
- Support standardized security processes, documenting procedures to ensure product security throughout its lifecycle.

- Report quality issues or defects for corrective action.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of IT security experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience supporting product design and leading cyber security efforts based on industry standards.
- Familiarity with security standards such as NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, IEC 62443, ISO 27001.
- Proven experience in defining architectural and technical specifications at network, application, and database levels.
- Experience with vulnerability testing, threat analysis, and security assessments.
- Knowledge of industrial systems and IoT is a plus.
- Technical expertise in OS and network security across physical, virtual, and cloud environments (AWS).
- Hands-on experience with security systems, including endpoint security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, wireless security, authentication, logs, and encryption.
- Desirable: experience with application and database security design.
- Understanding governance and risk management related to vulnerabilities.
- Ability to lead projects from a technical perspective.
- Experience writing engineering design specifications.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Teamwork and independent work capability.
- Cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CCNA Security, or GIAC are a plus.
- Experience working across multiple time zones and willingness to travel internationally.
- Ability to pass security background checks.
