We are currently seeking an experienced Regional Cyber Security Assessor (RCSO) Analyst to become part of our Federal Strategic Cyber Group.
RCSO's are cyber security consultants and experts whose core function is to support and implement the cyber security policies to secure the Department's critical information infrastructure by ensuring that classified and unclassified networks are installed, maintained, operated, and secured in accordance with the current department and U.S. Government regulations. The CSA goals are to objectively determine conformance with regulations; provide a cohesive and detailed computer and systems security improvement plan; as well as document the constructive results.
Location: Beltsville, MD with support in Northern VA and Washington D.C
- Position requires up to 50% travel within the CONUS and OCONUS.
- Position requires on-site with situational telework.
Program Overview
The DSCM program encompasses cyber security, data analytics, engineering, technical, managerial, operational, logistical and administrative support to aid and advise DOS Cyber & Technology Security (CTS) Directorate. This includes protecting a global cyber infrastructure comprising networks, systems, information, and mobile devices all while identifying and responding to cyber risks and threats. Those supporting the DSCM program strive to leverage their expert knowledge and propose creative solutions to real-world cybersecurity challenges.
About the Role
- Perform security assessments of classified, unclassified, and other networked systems within the Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
- Monitor compliance to security controls and polices within established operating procedures for data access controls, storage, transmission, and destruction of data.
- Maintain user accounts, servers, and security tools to include research, testing, and secure configuration of toolset to meet constantly evolving cyber assessment needs.
- Provide technical assistance to the customer in support of criminal, counterintelligence, and countermeasures investigations.
- Perform vulnerability scans and data analysis for enterprise systems and networks.
- Support specialized projects as assigned.
- Coordinate efforts with external partners and vendors to facilitate annual cyber training program.
- Develop and execute training curriculum in support of program leadership.
- Provide technical assistance and expertise in support of the technical lead.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 9 years of related experience; 7 years with a Masters, and 4 additional years of experience may be used in-lieu of degree requirement.
- Experience in network and system administration, tools development and assessing cyber hygiene.
- Must be able to travel up to 50% - CONUS and OCONUS.
- Possess and maintain, or obtain at least 1 of the following certifications prior to start date:
- CISAA, CISSP (or Associate), Cloud+, CySA+, GCED, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, SCYBER, VCA DCV, PPDA, Agile IC, SNOW App Dev.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active Secret security clearance is required.
- Ability to obtain a final Top Secret security clearance.
