Customs Entry Writer-LAX - DHL Express : Job Details

Participates in planning and directing the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations. Effectively classifies dutiable import/export shipments to ensure compliance with all government agency rules and regulations. Processes all requests for extensions, expiration, cancellation and all government entries. Communicates with origin and destination locations regarding shipment status and special handling and delivery processes. Applies for Import/ Export Permits and Certificates of Eligibility. Maintains open line of communication with department of foreign affairs. May receive and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence. Examine online commercial invoices and other documents, to determine the correct Harmonized Tariff Code for each commodity to ensure correct classification. Knowledge of US Customs Regulations regarding Foreign Trade Agreements, and other duty exemptions. Must be detail oriented, organized, and possess time management skills.
