Correctional Industries has an exceptional opportunity for a collaborative team player, with excellent customer service skills, to join their team as an Industries Specialist 1! The goal of this position is to be the primary point of contact for customers, resolving issues efficiently and empathetically! As an Industries Specialist 1, the work you do will directly foster strong customer relationships, and build lasting relationships that display customer loyalty, and contributing directly to the overall divisions success. You will support the objectives and goals of CI by providing assistance and concern resolution to customers of the Correctional Industries textiles operation. Tasks you may enjoy performing include processing the entry of customer orders into Microsoft D365, and coordinating the tracking of orders from receipt to delivery and invoice by coordinating communications between all stakeholders. You will receive new customer inquiry requests, then create quotes and provide customers with updated pricing information. As an Industries Specialist 1, some of your duties will include:
  • Acting as a Customer Service Specialist to include:
    • Ensuring receipt, processing, and response to all inquiries/requests from both internal and external customers
    • Receiving new orders from customers (online, direct purchase orders, internal orders)
    • Creating sales orders using Microsoft D365
    • Creating reports needed for shops or outstanding orders for customers
    • Providing via e-mail, customers and shops with sales order confirmations and/or Excel Order Sheet Quality Check (QC) new sales orders that have been created to ensure accuracy according to customer's original online order/purchase order
  • Managing the timely and accurate tracking of customer orders/signed receivers
  • Processing Product Returns
  • Additional duties needed for a well-functioning Textiles Division
Qualifications What we need (required qualifications):
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience providing assistance to customers, regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Dynamics 365
  • Willing and able to work in an adult correctional facility with incarcerated individuals
  • Must be able to multi-task for extended periods

Telework Details This position may be allocated for telework. Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a drop in area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
