Our client, MIDTEL, is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join their team. This is a dynamic role with diverse responsibilities, requiring strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a proactive, customer-focused mindset. Serving as a primary point of contact for new and existing customers both in person and by phone, the Customer Service Representative will handle billing inquiries, service requests, deposits, applications, and disconnects. The position may also involve reviewing credit references for new customers, managing billing processes for delinquent accounts, and promoting MIDTEL's services. As one of the faces of the organization, the ideal candidate will bring professionalism, approachability, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide prompt, courteous, and professional customer service in person and over the phone with a friendly and sincere demeanor.
  • Promote and explain products and services, answer questions, make recommendations, and assist with cost comparisons.
  • Develop strong knowledge of MIDTEL's products, services, and market area.
  • Process service orders in the billing system, starting with basic requests and advancing to more complex tasks.
  • Receive and process payments, manage reminders, payment arrangements, and reconnections, and perform collection activities on delinquent accounts.
  • Draft and send customer correspondence as needed.
  • Resolve customer issues by applying problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, escalating technical matters when appropriate, and following up to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate documentation while protecting customer confidentiality and following CPNI regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, phone, multitasking, and organizational skills with a focus on quality service.
  • Analyze information effectively to support customer needs and continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree preferred (Associate's, Bachelor's, or Trade School).
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with phone systems.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred; telecom industry experience a plus but not required.

BASE SALARY RANGE: $37,500 - $42,500 annually
