POSITION SUMMARY: The Customer Service Representative I plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service to new and existing RCB Bank customers. This entry-level position is responsible for accurately opening, maintaining, and servicing deposit accounts; responding to customer inquiries; and educating customers on bank products and services. The CSR I serves as a frontline ambassador of the bank, focused on building relationships with customers and supporting the branch in sales and service goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Greets customers in a friendly, professional manner and provides prompt assistance with banking needs.
  • Opens and maintains consumer deposit accounts, including checking, savings, certificates of deposit (CDs), and individual retirement accounts (IRAs), and money market accounts.
  • Ensures accurate completion of account documentation and compliance with RCB Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Responds to customer inquiries regarding account information, products, services, and basic problem resolution.
  • Educates customers on bank services such as online banking, mobile banking, ATM/debit cards, direct deposit, and overdraft protection.
  • Proactively identifies customer needs and recommends appropriate products and services to meet those needs.
  • Refers customers to appropriate bank personnel for complex services such as loans, investments, or business banking solutions.
  • Assists in resolving routine account issues, including address changes, account closures, and debit card issues.
  • Reviews and clears CSR-related branch exceptions in a timely manner, ensuring documentation and compliance standards are met.
  • Maintains confidentiality of customer information and adheres to bank security procedures and fraud prevention guidelines.
  • Supports the branch team with teller responsibilities and other operational tasks as needed.
  • Participates in training programs to enhance product/regulatory knowledge and customer service skills.

  • EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    • Minimum one (1) year of proven customer service experience
    • Previous experience in banking, including knowledge of banking processes, bank products, services, and regulatory requirements preferred
    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING:
    • High school diploma or GED required
    JOB-SPECIFIC SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
    • Basic clerical skills, including working knowledge of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Knowledge of account types, including consumer and business accounts
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team
    • Organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to deliver quality through attention to detail
