About The RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented DME Customer Service/Intake Specialist to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS) ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the intake process for durable medical equipment (DME) orders, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of all related documentation.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in customer service or healthcare-related roles.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in health administration or a related field.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial patient assessments and gather necessary information for intake processes.
  • Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing accurate information and support.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure all patient data is accurately recorded and maintained.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments and coordinating care services as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
