The Custom House Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day production and operational functions within TYR Sport's decorated apparel, swimwear, and headwear business. This role leads production floor staff, ensures all screen printing, embroidery, sublimation, and personalization orders are produced on time and to specification, and drives process efficiency, quality, and cost control. The Manager also partners with operations, warehouse, and sales teams to maintain alignment on deadlines, customer satisfaction, and overall business goals.

Summary

The Custom House Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day production and operational functions within TYR Sport's decorated apparel, swimwear, and headwear business. This role leads production floor staff, ensures all screen printing, embroidery, sublimation, and personalization orders are produced on time and to specification, and drives process efficiency, quality, and cost control. The Manager also partners with operations, warehouse, and sales teams to maintain alignment on deadlines, customer satisfaction, and overall business goals.

ResponsibilitiesProduction & Floor Management
  • Lead and manage production staff, including press operators, quality control, screen making, embroidery, and ink mixing.
  • Oversee production schedules and ensure on-time, accurate fulfillment of all decorated product orders.
  • Maintain inventory confidence levels of at least 98% for production stock and supplies.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping, organization, and safety compliance across production areas.
  • Oversee daily embroidery and screen print operations, including DTF, automatic, and manual print processes.
  • Coordinate and track equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Monitor productivity and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training, performance reviews, and professional development opportunities for staff.
Operational & Administrative Support
  • Administer and maintain systems including Ashore.com (proof approval), Salesforce (CRM), and Spotfire (business intelligence).
  • Maintain accurate databases, work order records, artwork, production history, and inventory reports.
  • Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics for senior management.
  • Review KPIs to ensure production and customer satisfaction expectations are consistently met.
  • Manage production budgets and control operating expenses.
  • Support cross-department communication with operations, warehouse, and sales teams.
  • Verify that all processes and work instructions are up-to-date and consistently followed.
  • Manage timekeeping system for direct reports.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Experience managing all aspects of a screen print and embroidery shop.
  • 3+ years of hands-on screen printing and embroidery experience (knowledge of sublimation and personalization a plus).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience managing diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Drop Box
  • Knowledge of production troubleshooting, machine maintenance, and supply management.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with operational reporting and administrative duties.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree , or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
