Applications are being accepted by the College Place School District for a Custodian assigned to College Place High School. This assignment is being posted for internal and external consideration at this time. POSITION & BENEFITS:Job Title: Custodian Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor Bargaining Group: ESE FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position: 8 hours per day, Monday - Friday (anticipated shift time) 3:00pm -11:30pm, 260 days per school year (12 months) Salary: $22.51 - $28.10 (educational incentive available in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreement as negotiated) Anticipated Start Date: 8/11/2025 Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision, FSA/DCAP, Life/AD&D through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board); and Retirement through DRS (Department of Retirement Systems) for eligible employees Additional Benefits: Optional 403(b) retirement plan; Optional DCP (deferred compensation program) retirement plan Leave: 12 sick days (pro-rated for mid-year hires), 13 paid holidays REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent (GED)
  • Knowledge of school custodial procedures
  • Maintain a current driver's license
  • Knowledge and experience with technology
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains building Interior and Exterior.
  • Keeps all equipment operational by following the manufacture's operating and care guidelines. Communicate with the Building Grounds Maintenance person to support repair and maintenance of said equipment.
  • Supports inventory of supplies.
  • Maintains continuity and communication between shifts as directed by the administrator.
  • Acknowledges the importance of safety by maintaining a safe and orderly working environment and following safe work practices.
  • Protect District by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational trainings.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed or requested by Administration.
  • Work efficiently, effectively and timely;
  • Produce work that is accurate, neat and thorough;
  • Be reliable, trustworthy and require minimal supervision;
  • Interact and communicate with others in a respectful, courteous and cooperative manner;
  • Maintain adaptability by being positive, versatile and flexible;
  • Retain the ability to legally drive vehicles and equipment;
  • Support school rules and District policies and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
  • Generally, the job requires:
    • ~ 5% lifting ~ 40 lbs.
    • ~ 55% of the work day standing, reaching, bending, stooping, walking
    • ~ 40% of the time working from a sitting position
  • This job is performed under temperature variations consistent with indoor and outdoor temperatures.
  • This job may require interaction with students displaying aggression, non-compliance, and other conduct problems.
