We are currently seeking a custodian who is an experienced energetic person able to steward and care for our amazing churches. We are looking for a candidate to provides cleaning and light maintenance for the parish buildings and grounds.Hours of work:* *This job will be a Wednesday through Sunday position**Wed -Friday - 1:00pm - 9:30pmSaturdays - 12pm - 6:30pmSundays - 8am - 4:30pmResponsibilities:
- Routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Utilize cleaning products and chemicals to ensure proper usage and effective cleaning results.
- Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment.
- Disposal of trash and hazardous materials following safety guidelines and regulations.
- Monitor and restock janitorial supplies.
- Address maintenance issues promptly and report any issues to the facility management.
- Follow safety protocols/guidelines while performing cleaning duties and operating equipment.
- Identify and address cleaning needs in hard-to-reach or overlooked areas.
- Collaborate/ communicate with other team members to ensure efficient cleaning process.
- Assist with training and mentoring new janitorial staff members.
- Performs grounds maintenance. Mowing, edging, blowing sidewalks, etc.
QualificationsRequirements:
- Proven experience as a custodian, with a track record of excellence in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation.
- Profound knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment operation.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to cleaning and chemical handling.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle cleaning schedules and prioritize tasks.
- Reliable and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility toward maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the premises.
- Effective communication skills to interact with other team members and report any issues to management promptly.
- Successfully pass a background check and take the Archdiocesan Safe Environment course.
- Must be an active Catholic orfrom a Christian faith.
- Must possess a Valid State's Driver License
