The University of Virginia Facilities Management Department has an available Custodian opportunity! Custodians perform exceptional housekeeping services in assigned areas through safe work practices while using proper housekeeping techniques. The position maintains good working relationships with customers, staff, students, and supervisors. The Custodian completes special project work as assigned. They gain increasing efficiency with cleaning techniques, supplies, and equipment. Basic housekeeping experience, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning carpets, cleaning bathrooms and removal of trash is required. Ability to follow established policies and procedures and adhere to regulatory guidelines in daily work is required. Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team, as well as written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are also essential.
