Status: Full Time Shift: Monday - Friday rotating weekends and holidays Exempt: No Summary: Responsible for supervising personnel engaged in performing a variety of CT procedures. This is a working supervisor position. The CT Supervisorperforms computed tomography radiographic procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and is responsible for the daily operations of the CT Department. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill set, and/or ability required.
Graduate of a accredited Radiologic Technology program. Must be licensed by the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE) and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Previous supervisor experience preferred. Minimum of 3 years progressively more responsible work related experience necessary in order to have a full understanding of medical imagingpractices, equipment, maintenance, and functions. Completed American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Ability to respond to and withstand crisis situations. Working Conditions:
- Normal Patient-Care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
- Positioning and turning of patients.
- Lifting of patients utilizing proper body mechanics.

Maintains and promotes confidentiality per hospital policy Completes annual hospital mandatory educational requirements. Performs visual preventive safety inspections. Identifies problems and communicates to immediate Manager. Ensures departmental policies and procedures are up to date and works with Quality Analyst to update. Educates and updates department staff on new procedures or changes to current procedures. Knowledgeable of regulations of department and ensures procedures/practices adhere to those regulations. Departmental Workflow:Consistently maintains departmental workflow of the departments within Diagnostic Services ensuring maximized productivity and efficiency.

Demonstrates a complete working knowledge of all CT equipment, supplies, communication and technical equipment within the department. Performs all CT procedures. Demonstrates anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning and administers contrast media according to the department procedure manual. Obtains patient history and clinical data for correlation with the scans. Adjust technical factors in proportion to patient and body part being examined while minimizing radiation. Provides radiation protection to patient, staff and self-according to prescribed safety standards. Maintains necessary inventory of supplies for assigned room, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, and eliminating outdated items. Ensures all equipment is in good working condition. Works closely with scheduling to ensure departmental schedule is maximized. Customer Relations:Consistently maintains an attitude of cooperation, clear communication, mutual respect, and courtesy to all patients, visitors, team members, medical staff, volunteers and students.
Ability to listen to complaints and offer apologies and/or resolutions or manages up to manager/director when appropriate. Other:
Follows North Oaks Health System's Compliance Program and Federal and State Regulatory guidelines. Performs all other duties as required or requested. Performs all imaging procedures as assigned. Demonstrates anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning and utilizes ACR guidelines to obtain properly positioned images. Obtains patient history and clinical data for correlation with the images. Determines contrast to be utilized, consulting with physician when necessary. Prepare intravenous and oral contrast for use in patient studies. Calculate patient dosage. Start IV's, when necessary, as authorized by physician procedure order. Assists in the movement of patients, as necessary. Participates in continuing education activities. Participates in projects and assists in the development and implementation of procedures and policies. Organizational and Departmental Regulation Compliance (OSHA, JCAHO, LDH, DEQ, NRC, etc.) Up to date on all Policies, Procedures, and Competencies. Work area cleanliness.
