About This Role

As a Master Field Engineer, you will be vital to ALC's Critical Systems Data Center Team, overseeing the field commissioning of building automation systems tailored to each customer. You should work well in a team, possess excellent time management, organization, communication, technical, and troubleshooting skills. You will serve as a technical expert, lead training for less experienced engineers, and act as a field contact for technical issues.

Essential Job Functions
  • Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems utilizing advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced Field Engineers on tools and technology.
  • Serve as the local contact for technical issues.
  • Offer solutions for complex system problems.
  • Ensure proper operation of controls, sensors, and software in systems.
  • Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Document and communicate project status and details to the customer.
  • Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over 8 feet and lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Willingness to travel within the U.S. approximately 80% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, Associate degree, or technical certification in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
  • Proficiency with building automation software like WebCTRL and installing automation controls.
  • Experience with mission-critical BAS and EPMS deployments using BACnet and Modbus protocols.
  • Familiarity with construction/commissioning tracking platforms (CX Alloy, Procore, Autodesk Build).
  • Ability to navigate and integrate various building automation systems.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP networks, including wireless tech.
  • Strong problem-solving skills across disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate technical info to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

Pay Range: $74,181 - $130,206 annually.
