Position Overview - ICU Registered Nurse As a member of our ICU nursing team, you will provide comprehensive and highly specialized care to patients with complex, critical conditions. You'll be responsible for assessing rapidly changing clinical situations, initiating appropriate interventions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team. In this role, you'll also mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities - Critical Care RNDeliver Advanced Patient Care: Provide critical nursing care using evidence-based protocols for patients facing serious or life-threatening health issues. Monitor & Respond to Changes: Perform frequent assessments and intervene quickly in response to evolving patient needs. Collaborate with Medical Professionals: Coordinate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and case managers to deliver patient-centered care plans. Administer Critical Interventions: Manage high-risk treatments such as IV drips, ventilator settings, cardiac meds, and blood product transfusions. Support Patients & Families: Act as an advocate and resource for patients and their loved ones, offering emotional support and transparent communication. Demonstrate ICU Nursing Standards: Adhere to clinical guidelines and institutional policies, upholding Standards I-IV. Technical Skills & Core Competencies
- Proficient with EMR documentation and digital charting systems
- Comfortable operating ICU-related medical and monitoring equipment
- Skilled in analyzing critical patient data and responding appropriately
- Committed to safety protocols, quality metrics, and risk mitigation practices
QualificationsLicensure & Certifications:
- Active Texas RN license or compact state licensure
- BLS certification required
- ACLS, PALS, and TNCC preferred
Education & Experience:
- BSN preferred (ADN considered with experience)
- One year of experience in ICU or similar acute care setting preferred
- New graduate RNs encouraged to apply with strong clinical training
- Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills
