Job Summary: As a Critical Care Float Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple world-renowned specialties to deliver hope and healing to patients from around the world in some of our most high acuity areas. This role supports the NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center Critical Care inpatient units including the Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, Neuroscience ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Step-Down Units, and more. Nurses in this dynamic role support the state-of-the-art Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns by recovering post-Cesarean Section and post-procedural obstetrical patients in the PACU and by playing a critical role in maternal emergency response.
Job Responsibilities: - Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients in high acuity areas
- Work autonomously in high-pressure situations
- Care for Post-Cesarean Section patients/ Obstetrical emergencies
- Float to different specialties as needed
- Follow established protocols, policies, procedures, and standards
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
Qualifications: - Minimum two years of experience as a Critical Care RN
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Current NYS RN licensure
- BCLS and ACLS certification
- Proven experience working autonomously in high-pressure situations
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple patient assignments effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to work different shifts and float to different specialties as needed
Preferred Criteria: Experience with caring for Post-Cesarean Section patients/ Obstetrical emergencies
