Job Description: Summary: The Crisis Therapy Assistant will work with the Ballad Health Respond department in serving as the point of contact for those seeking behavioral health services, who present to any Ballad facility. They serve as the liaison with the Ballad Health entities and local community partners for inpatient psych referrals. The Crisis Therapy Assistant will work with the licensed clinician in the coordination of behavioral health treatment and/or support services. They are responsible for fielding the crisis hotline which services the residents of our region, reviewing clinical evaluations and staffing admission referrals with the attending physician. They also assist with the coordination of outpatient services in the community, as well as facilitating admissions to other psychiatric hospitals outside of the Ballad service area. Requiring the ability to navigate various referral platforms, The Crisis Triage Assistant also conducts the initial insurance pre-certification/authorization for the inpatient hospital admissions. . They will document in the patient's medical record any communication related to the management of the crisis, admission and/or referral. Requirements: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services field from an accredited school or university. At least 2 years of related clinical experience with the serious and persistently mentally ill or addictions population is preferred. Experience in healthcare is preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills. Must have an ability to work with minimal supervision and be able to handle multiple demands in a calm, controlled manner.
