Resolve Crisis Services is looking for a Casual Crisis Safety Specialist to join the team! Resolve is Allegheny County's primary Crisis Center. This position will serve the safety needs of resolve's building located at 333 N. Braddock Ave. The building is resolve's primary location and includes: Crisis Walk-In Center, 14 bed Crisis Residential Center, Mobile Crisis programs and Telephone Crisis Center. Our Crisis Safety Specialist is responsible for greeting all individuals entering the facility, conducting safety checks on patients and visitors, managing the front desk, supporting the general environment as needed, and assisting leadership in implementing safety protocols for both walk-in and residential areas.
Responsibilities:
Participate in staff meetings, committees, and new staff orientation
Ensure safety by reporting concerns and conducting safety searches
Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
De-escalate disruptive behavior; use physical intervention only when necessary
Demonstrate understanding of mental health laws
Answer phones, direct calls, and provide information
Complete incident reports and documentation
Enforce policies to maintain a safe and secure environment
Handle evidence, valuables, and lost/found items
Respond effectively to crisis situations as part of a team
HS Diploma required.
Bachelor's degree preferred
2 years of experience in safety, crisis intervention, mental health, de-escalation or related field preferred.
Ability to respond calmly and effectively, using good clinical judgment to both psychiatric and medical emergencies.
Must be physically capable of providing direct total physical care to unpredictable, potentially violent mentally ill residents including lifting, supporting, running toward or away from areas where problems are occurring, and pushing or pulling equipment.
Ability to defuse and handle distraught or hostile person(s) in a professional manner required.
Good interpersonal skills; able to deal with stress and potentially dangerous conflict situations.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to work under stress, with an unpredictable consumer flow, Flexible schedule, and rotating shifts. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
