Crew Chief Overview: We are looking for an experienced Crew Chief for a well-respected, well-established restoration company based in Nassau County, NY. Candidate MUST have DIRECT, HANDS-ON experience in water remediation, fire/smoke remediation, mold remediation, on-site work and be comfortable running a complete job from start to finish, including overseeing the team. They must have a strong work ethic, a self-starter and be willing to travel throughout Long Island, the 5 boroughs and occasionally further. The Crew Chief is responsible for delivering a variety of projects on-time and within scope. The Crew Chief will also be responsible for training staff and participating in internal leadership roles. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an Ambassador for the ARS Brand on and off Job Sites.
  • Bring new projects and clients to the team and collaborate on new revenue streams
  • Leadership & oversight for day to day operations
  • Understanding and documenting the full scope of the project
  • Follow and manage the full range of project tasks from the Project Manager from inception to completion
  • Organize and be responsible for behavior, schedules and clean up of all subs/crews on site
  • Set up staging area and equipment for each project
  • Leave job site with a clean and orderly appearance
  • Ensure clear two-way communication with crew and other technicians (especially regarding customer needs and concerns)
  • Understand and follow safety and risk management guidelines on the job site, in the office, and while traveling
  • Walk throughs and project communication with insured
  • Track all supplies used on job. Track and report on job costs to administrative team
  • Work directly with Project Manager to ensure a seamless customer experience from start to finish
  • Manage and maintain positive relationships with clients
  • Ensure Company Fleet is clean and organized
  • Confirm all equipment and tools are properly sanitized after jobs
Education/Experience:
  • 3+ years experience as a Crew Chief in cleaning/restoration
  • Effective oral communication
  • IICRC certifications preferred - or willingness to be certified
  • Estimating and sketching in Xactimate a plus but not required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential to this position.
  • Ability to lead project(s) from conception to completion
  • Demonstrated leadership and influence through communication with internal and external teams to execute tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to mentor and coach other technicians
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, scheduling, and executing the full range of project tasks on schedule and on budget for a variety of complex projects
  • Demonstrated experience supervising employees
  • Project-based work often entails work outside of standard business hours and days.
  • An ability to assess priorities and maintain attention to detail; thrive in a fast paced industrial environment.
  • Estimating and sketching in Xactimate a plus but not required
  • Spanish Bilingual a plus not but required

Since starting in 1972, the IICRC has evolved into a global organization with more than 49,000 active Certified Technicians and more than 6,500 Certified Firms around the world. The IICRC is managed by its Board of Directors, which is composed of 15 industry leaders elected by the IICRC's Shareholders. The Board of Directors' function is to represent the various interests of the applicants while leading the direction of the organization. The Board of Directors meets four times per year and is tasked with the responsibility of helping shape future policies of the organization and uphold the standards that help shape the industry.
