Job Description :

KSL CAPITAL PARTNERS - Credit - Associate - New York City Description KSL Capital Partners, LLC ( KSL ) is a leading global private equity firm specializing in travel and leisure enterprises. KSL specializes in investments across five primary sectors: hospitality, recreation, clubs, real estate, and travel services. KSL has approximately $25 billion of assets under management across its equity, debt, and tactical opportunities funds and has completed over 200 investments since 2005. These investments include some of the premier businesses and properties in travel and leisure globally. In 2014, KSL launched a credit fund which focuses on first mortgage and mezzanine financing in the travel and leisure industry. KSL Credit has provided loans to a variety of hotels and resorts (including the St. Regis Aspen, Amangiri, and the Kalahari Poconos Resort), but also considers investments across all sectors within travel and leisure as well as in CMBS and corporate credit. Today, KSL has offices in Denver, Colorado; New York City, New York; Stamford, Connecticut; and London, England. Role: KSL Credit is looking to add a junior professional with 2-3+ years of experience to our team based in NYC for an immediate start. The credit team has two distinct pools of capital in North America (a separate team based in London oversees UK and European credit investments) and the new hire will focus on executing investments via both strategies:

  • KSL Credit is investing out of Fund IV, which was activated in early 2024 ($1.25bn, which exceeded $1.0bn target and is nearly twice as large as Fund III) and is seeing strong investment momentum
  • The team also created a JV with a Sovereign Wealth Fund in 2016 (approximately $3bn), which is dedicated to CMBS investments
Responsibilities: The credit team has a robust pipeline and sees an outsized opportunity in the near term to put capital to work. The team is lean; associates are given a significant amount of responsibility and are expected to operate at a high level and contribute informed opinions. The new hire will be an integral member of the team and will be involved in all aspects of the transaction process, from initial analysis to diligence, site tours and execution. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, understanding the merits of transactions and the underlying businesses, understanding trends within a particular sector, conducting market research, performing comprehensive financial modeling and sensitivity analyses, and putting together/presenting detailed memos for investment committee as well as LPs. Additionally, associates will be involved in all aspects of the fund including fundraising, portfolio construction, asset management and investor communications. Strong Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation skills are imperative. Associates are expected to ultimately run diligence calls with third party consultants, sessions with management teams and internal meetings. It is expected for the new hire to be comfortable analyzing potential investments for financial feasibility as well as analyzing key market drivers. This is a career track opportunity, as the team would like the new hire to grow with the credit platform as the credit strategy continues to evolve and expand.
