Job Location : Grand Haven,MI, USA
Under the supervision of the Trial Division Director, creates and maintains a verbatim permanent record of court proceedings using digital audio and video recording methods. Prepares official transcripts of court proceedings. Must be certified in accordance with MCR 8.108. Acts as liaison between courtroom technology users, Information Technology Department, and equipment vendors. Maintains courtroom technology manual and provides instruction to judges, court staff, and attorneys, as needed. Ensures the integrity of court recording technology and evidence presentation technology, including the establishment of daily monitoring processes. Provides support to judges and court administration regarding confidential matters. Performs general clerical duties, as assigned. This is a full-time, benefitted position working Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Grand Haven Courthouse located at 414 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI.

Required Education, Training and Experience:
Completion of board-approved workshop or course of study as required by MCR 8.108(G)(3)(b) and (d). Post-secondary training in courtroom technology; Associate's Degree in business information systems, legal secretarial, or other relevant field, and two years of progressively responsible experience in the legal profession; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree in business administration, technology or legal studies preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Must be certified by the State of Michigan as a Certified Shorthand Reporter or a Certified Electronic Recorder within 6 months of employment.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including but not limited to, visual and/or audiological appliances and devices to increase mobility. Will be required to sit for several hours at a time. Working Conditions: Work is generally performed in a courtroom setting and in a normal office environment. May be required to work non-traditional hours as required by court proceedings.
