Job Posting DescriptionGeneral SummaryDelivers patient medication orders as directed by a registered pharmacist. Sorts and transports medications throughout the hospital complex/nursing units following established protocols and techniques.Key Responsibilities
- Delivers individual medications to nursing units and collects new medication orders PRN bags according to established procedures and schedules.
- Maintains professional interactions with Nursing and Pharmacy Management staff. Work occasionally requires contact with patients and/or visitors which involve courtesy.
- Handles medications in accordance with established confidentiality policies, procedures and standards.
- Keeps work area neat and orderly and free of fire and safety hazards.
- Regularly proofreading and checking documents for accuracy and inputting and retrieving words or data into or from and automated computer system
Minimum RequirementsEducationHigh School Diploma or GEDExperience
- Analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are relatively routine.
- Ability to understand and respond to written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to respond appropriately to instructions, questions or requests for information.
- Ability to lift and carrying objects weighing up to twenty pounds.
