Employment Type:Part time. Shift:Day Shift. Description:POSITION SUMMARY:Transports supplies, specimens, films, food, records, equipment and sometimes people, to and from the hospital in a safe courteous manner using a hospital-provided vehicle. The Laboratory courier is responsible for delivering reports and hospital mail to outreach customers and for laboratory specimen pickup. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS - Current Michigan chauffeurs licence. Bondable. Police-verified good driving record. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Six months to one year prior experience preferred. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS - Position requires some lifting and/or pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. Involves a wide array of physical activities, primarily walking, standing, balancing, sitting, squatting, reading, and driving. Exposure to varied weather conditions.
