The Department of Children, Youth, and Families is seeking compassionate individuals with assessment, engagement, and writing skills for Child Welfare Caseworker positions. Position includes balancing multiple priorities: working with families, conducting home visits, working outside of core business hours and transporting clients, maintaining records and documentation, compliance with regulatory guidelines and time frames, conducting risk assessments, court testimony, meeting facilitation, working with provider agencies, collateral professionals, and educational systems. Caseworkers in the In-Home Ongoing Services Unit ensure provision of on-going and placement prevention services (Intensive Brief Services, Adolescent Services, Family Group Decision Making Services) while continuing to assess risk and safety of children living at home. Caseworkers in the Placement Unit: (Adoption/Foster Care) ensure the provision of services to families with children who cannot remain at home and are in out-of-home care. The goals include reunification and permanency for the children and families. Caseworkers in the Intake Services Unit respond and assess the reports of concern for children that are received from the community. They provide referrals for services to the families. Please note: We are only looking to fill the Purchased & Foster Care, Adoption Caseworker aspect of this role. This position includes the potential for a flexible work arrangement that may include remote work.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor Degree from an accredited college/university in the Social Sciences (Social Work, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, etc.) OR Bachelor Degree with 12 credits in the Social Sciences from an accredited college/university with one year of paid experience in the Human Services field. Child Abuse, State Police and FBI clearances required. Valid driver's license and use of a private vehicle are required. A writing skills assessment is conducted at the interview. An online assessment is required. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) are encouraged to apply. These positions are subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining unit.
Essential DutiesMinimum Requirements: The Children, Youth and Families County Caseworker position comes under the provision of the Child Protective Services Law. Pennsylvania State Police, Childline, and FBI clearances are required. If your background is unacceptable, you will be disqualified for employment in this position.
