I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position exists to provide assistance and recommendation on corrosion related evaluation through participating of P&ID review, equipment specification review, damage mechanism review of equipment inspections, Equipment Abnormal Analysis review, PSM operations issues review, RBMI corrosion research, incident investigations, project review / study, PHA study,inspection and maintenance audit.

II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Corrosion Research : Collect data, review inspection histories, corrosion studies, criticality analyses, and prioritize NDE inspections. Assist in input for the RBMI research, including potential damage mechanisms, corrosion types, corrosion rates, and predictable or potential locations, as well as flow considerations to allow inspectable risk to be calculated. Document activities and inspections as well as review same to discern issues with the accuracy of data and information contained in reports prepared by others.

Technical Support : Provide expertise and technical assistance to Operations and Maintenance on the type of piping and equipment needed. Help develop programs and procedures on material identification.

Manage and Lead : Coordinate with multiple internal departments and cross-functional representatives.

PSM : Review and audit of PSM operations and corrosion issues such as Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and accident investigation.

Documentation : Document activities and inspections as well as review same to discern issues with the accuracy of data and information contained in reports prepared by others. Interpret and apply the company's procedures with an appreciation of underlying industry codes and standards and government regulations. Defend the company's technical and procedural positions related to corrosion control activities and represent the company in an audit, inspection, or enforcement action.

THM : Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of six (6) to ten (10) years of experience in a petrochemical plant depending on education.
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of direct job-related experience required. Bachelor's degree with 6 years of direct job-related experience preferred. Associate's degree with 8 years of direct job-related experience.
