The immediate vacancies are with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation at the Women's Community Correctional Center in Kailua and the Oahu Community Correctional Center in Kalihi.

Salary: $4,858 to $5,918 per month (SR 20, Step D to I). Note: Hiring rates depend on funds, qualifications, and other factors.

Duties Summary

Plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates recreation programs within corrections; conducts recreational activities; performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

To qualify, you must meet all of the following:

• Legal Authorization: Must be citizens, nationals, or eligible for unrestricted employment in the U.S.
• Education: Bachelor's in recreation, physical education, therapy, leisure education, psychology, corrections, sociology, human development, or related field. Must include at least 12 semester credits in relevant courses.
• General Experience: 6 months in an organized athletic/recreation program with professional planning and execution experience.
• Specialized Experience: 1 year in planning and conducting recreation in a correctional setting, promoting participant development and well-being.
• Driver's License: Required for some positions, including immediate vacancies.
• Supervisory Aptitude: Demonstrated through leadership roles, training, or supervisor evaluations.
• Substitutions: Relevant substitutions as per requirements are applicable.
