Corrections Program Coordinator 9-12 - Classification - State of Michigan : Job Details

This position works in a multi-level male correctional facility and is responsible for coordination of classification and reclassification of all prisoners at a multi-level facility to meet the needs of the institution, such as assignments and programs, and the needs of the prisoners. Classifies all incoming prisoners and assists in reclassification, oversees the labor pool operation, ensures racial balance of institutional assignments and coordinates special activiities. Work is performed under general supervision and assignments are self-generated as a result of prisoners' needs and specific programs' needs and priorities. Therefore, the employee must exercise considerable independent judgment in selecting a proper course of action.
