FIRST REVIEW OF APPLICANTS AUGUST 18 TH The Correctional Officer performs activities that create and maintain a safe and secure environment for the residents of Rice County, and general public who enter the jail facility. This position generates essential data and records for courts, administration, local, state and federal agencies. Examples of Duties Maintains the security, safety and well-being of detainees in accordance with Minnesota Department of Corrections 2911 Rules Governing Adult Detention Facilities. Follow State Statutes and Constitutional Standards, Rice County Sheriffs Office and Jail Divisions policies and procedures. Maintains a detailed and accurate jail log electronically including but not limited to all detainee activities, court appearances, medical and dental appointments, medical problems, medication dispensed, meals ordered and received, and cell checks.
