Reporting to the Correctional Captain III at a multi-custody female correctional facility, this position predominantly and independently provides support to the Correctional Captain. Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. The selected candidate may be selected to work any shift and will work weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 staff coverage.
As of January 1, 2025, there are new increase adjustments to the state pay plan which were approved by the State Human Resources Commission, effective January 1, 2025. The new salary range will be $43,738 - $76,542. Prior applicants will remain under consideration and do not need to reapply.
Note to Current State EmployeesThe salary grade for this position is NC11 (Salary Range: $43,738 - $76,542). State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
About Anson Correctional InstitutionAnson Correctional Institution houses female offenders in medium and close custody housing units. Anson CI offers a wide variety of educational, vocational, and training programs. Correction Enterprises operates the offender packaging operation at Anson, a partnership with Union Supply Direct through the Prison Industry Enhancement Program (PIE). Family and friends can order a package of goods from a pre-approved shopping list to send to an offender. Orders are packaged by offenders and shipped quarterly.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document in the work experience section of the application that they possess ALL of the following:
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND three years of experience as a Correctional Sergeant, OR two years of experience as a Correctional Sergeant III; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications: Must be eligible for certification by the N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training and Standards Commission.
