Position Summary

The Corporate Tax Manager is responsible for the quarterly and annual tax provision, financial statement reporting for income taxes, and the research, development, modeling, and implementation of tax strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee federal, state, and municipal tax filings.
  • Coordinate income tax compliance calendars and intercompany settlements.
  • Review and approve estimated income and franchise tax payments.
  • Prepare responses to external audit requests.
  • Drive process automation and manage tax-related projects with external advisors.
  • Review monthly reports such as investment tax credits, Federal income tax provision, and tax account reconciliations.
  • Perform annual reviews of federal and state income tax returns, municipal filings, and related adjustments, including deferred tax inventories.
  • Assist in the tax-related aspects of the budgeting process.
  • Lead tax planning projects focusing on M&A, transfer pricing, accounting methods, acquisition strategies, legal entity rationalization, etc.
  • Collaborate with third-party tax service providers to ensure accurate assumptions, data, and technical conclusions.
  • Monitor tax legislation and regulatory changes, assessing and communicating impacts.
  • Partner with other departments such as Finance, HR, Wealth, FP&A, Legal, and Treasury for tax-related activities.
  • Manage monthly tax entries, interim and annual tax provisions, and related disclosures in financial statements, understanding ASC 740.
  • Analyze changes to effective tax rates, taxes payable, and deferred tax assets.
  • Review reserve calculations under ASC 740-10 (FIN 48) and related footnotes quarterly and annually.
Education & Experience

Knowledge of:

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Tax preparation software.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Advanced research, technical, and data analysis skills.

Ability to:

  • Learn and efficiently use tax reporting software.
  • Coordinate communication between departments such as Finance, HR, Wealth, and Legal.
  • Analyze and interpret numerical data.

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant tax experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Smartsheet and OneSource tax software is a plus.
Benefits and Compensation

Salary ranges from $110,000 to $125,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. The role may include bonuses or incentives based on performance.
