Embracing Service, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, Pursuing Excellence, and Advancing Equity Assists the County Coroner's Office with reporting requirements of the Overdose Data to Action in States (OD2A-S) overdose surveillance activities through data management, data collection, report preparation, and special projects. Assists in the quality assurance review of overdose fatality reports. Coordinates the timely submission of overdose death investigation reports to State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS) to include direct abstraction of coroner records including toxicology, death certificates, and supplemental reports into the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS) web-based data system. Coordinates and provides support to County Coroners in the surrounding region to increase access to and participation in OD2A-S overdose surveillance activities to include timely submission of reports to SUDORS and training on case management systems. May assist with direct abstraction into the NVDRS web-based system. Maintains information in accordance with DPH and County policy, procedures, and all other applicable guidelines and laws. Obtains and maintains required DPH/DHEC and County training and certifications. Maintains knowledge of Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), OD2A-S, and SUDORS programs by participating in meetings and webinars. Travels to Columbia, SC for DPH meetings. Assists with additional reporting to include Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (ODMAP), South Carolina Violent Death Reporting System (SCVDRS), and postmortem toxicology analytes. Assists with Office role as a Community Distributor of naloxone. Minimum and Additional Requirements State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience. Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Agency Additional Requirements: Successful completion of security awareness training. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nursing, a biological science, criminal justice or a related field and one or more years of experience in death investigation, law enforcement, emergency prehospitalization care, or healthcare.
