Edit quickly and thoroughly, sometimes after pieces are published. Engage in productive dialogue with reporters, editors and managers as needed. Make sure MSNBC.coms coverage meets the highest standards Qualifications. A bachelors degree or relevant work experience. At least 5 years of experience in daily journalism as a copy editor. A strong knowledge of AP style. Must have the desire to work in a creative, demanding, competitive environment. Experience working with politics and/or opinion journalism strongly preferred. The position requires enthusiasm, patience and positive communication skills. A successful candidate must be able to quickly edit articles in fast-breaking situations, and understand the difference in style and tone between an opinion column, a news or enterprise feature and a live blog.
