Job Description

The Social Responsibility Coordinator supports the administrative, operational, and programmatic aspects of the team's portfolio, which includes cause-related volunteer initiatives and mentorship programs in partnership with Weil attorneys, staff, clients and nonprofit organizations, the Weil Legal Innovators (WLI) Program, sustainability efforts, and other firmwide social impact efforts.

Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions:
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for Social Responsibility programs and events, including onsite and offsite volunteer events, the annual Weil Social Impact Awards and more. Responsibilities include assisting with scheduling, liaising with AV, Catering and Facilities teams, tracking attendance and maintaining event materials.
  • Support the WLI Program, including managing applicant outreach and advertising, coordinating the applicant interview process and assisting with logistics in preparation for and during the annual WLI Conference in July.
  • Contribute to the Firm's sustainability initiatives as assigned, including implementing internal green initiatives.
  • Collaborate regularly with the Global Inclusion team on cross-team initiatives and idea sharing.
  • Support the Firm's workplace mentoring portfolio, including volunteer recruitment and program implementation.
  • Maintain and regularly update internal databases and records related to Social Responsibility programming.
  • Liaise with the Firm's departments (e.g., Creative Services, CRM, Social Media and Web Team) to develop marketing and communications materials, including the annual Year in Review report.
  • Conduct research projects on topics pertaining to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as needed.
  • Support the Firm's charitable giving portfolio by liaising with nonprofit partners to submit sponsorship materials and coordinating internal ticket distribution.
  • Take minutes during the quarterly Philanthropic Committee meetings.
  • Participate in external CSR roundtables to stay informed on sector trends and emerging best practices; serve as a thought partner on CSR.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
  • Minimum of one year cumulative relevant work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly, concisely, and logically. All communication should reflect a high standard of professionalism and polish, tailored to the subject, purpose and audience.
  • Highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset. Actively listens and responds to needs of others; engages with co-workers in a tactful, respectful and positive manner.
  • Ability to serve as an ambassador for Weil; demonstrates a poised and professional presence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders including attorneys, administrative staff, clients and nonprofit leaders with a customer service mentality.
  • Demonstrated commitment and passion for public service; working knowledge of a wide range of social impact issue areas from education to sustainability and an interest in learning more.
  • Commitment to the values of inclusion.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); Airtable is a plus.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to Firm policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility with work schedule. Limited travel and attending events outside regular work hours will be required.
  • While not required, knowledge, experience and/or background in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is a plus.
  • While not required, a personal involvement with a nonprofit organization through volunteerism or board service is a plus.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
