Salary: $44,304.00 - $57,595.20 Annually Location : Prescott, AZ Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 2025-00139 Department: ABE Program Opening Date: 06/12/2025 Description of Position Adult Basic Education (ABE/ASE) Instructional Leadership Coordination (50%) Provide instructional leadership in the areas of curriculum, assessment, and technology integration for ABE/ASE/HSE programs. • Coach instructional staff on standards-based teaching practices, use of Arizona Adult Education Standards, and effective integration of instructional resources. • Support teachers in the use of data-driven instruction aligned with measurable skill gains (MSGs) and student achievement outcomes. • Coordinate with the ABE Director and professional learning staff to plan and deliver ongoing professional development. • Assist with class scheduling, teacher assignments, and instructional planning across multiple sites. • Utilize the Arizona Adult Education Teacher Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics to support high-quality instruction. Student Services Coordination - ABE/ASE (10%) • Oversee participant eligibility, intake, orientation, and placement processes for ABE/ASE students. • Collaborate with the College and Career Navigator and IET Specialist to identify wraparound services that support student persistence and goal attainment. • Guide students through the three High School Equivalency (HSE) pathways available in Arizona. • Support student retention by helping coordinate class schedules and instructional placement based on learner needs and assessment data. Assessment Coordination - TABE 13/14 (30%) • Ensure implementation of the Arizona Department of Education - Adult Education Services (ADE-AES) Assessment Policy. • Coordinate and oversee all standardized assessments (TABE 13/14) for ABE/ASE and ESOL students. • Assist with the intake process, including initial and post-testing, and class placement based on assessment results. • Generate and distribute assessment data reports for instructional staff and program leadership to support instructional decision-making. • Analyze assessment trends to inform program improvement strategies and support compliance with state and federal performance benchmarks. Data Entry/ ABE/ASE (10%) • Enter and maintain accurate student demographic, assessment, and enrollment data in the Arizona Department of Education's data management system (e.g., ADE Connect/Excel/other designated platforms). • Ensure that data entry complies with state guidelines, including maintaining separation between data entry and data approval roles. • Support grant and program compliance by monitoring data accuracy, timeliness, and completeness in coordination with leadership. Position information The High School Equivalency (HSE) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting instructional services in Adult Basic Education (ABE), Adult Secondary Education (ASE), and High School Equivalency (HSE) programs across Yavapai County. This position ensures the effective delivery of instruction in both classroom and learning center settings and oversees the collection and management of student data for compliance with state and federal grant requirements. The HSE Coordinator works closely with faculty, staff, and community partners to strengthen program quality and expand access to educational opportunities for adult learners. Minimum Expectations & Requirements Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in adult education or secondary education, including direct instruction in High School Equivalency (HSE) programs (e.g., GED). • Prior experience in program coordination, instructional leadership, or staff supervision. • Knowledge of HSE curriculum and assessment tools such as GED Ready and TABE. • Current Adult Education Teacher Certification or eligibility for certification as defined by the Arizona Department of Education. • Proficiency in educational technology, including learning management systems and student data platforms. • Ability to collect, manage, and analyze student performance data for compliance and program improvement. • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to support and oversee services across multiple sites in Yavapai County. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse students, staff, and external partners. • Demonstrated problem-solving ability, flexibility, and a proactive approach to taking on additional responsibilities as needed. • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between program sites. • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends. • Regular and reliable attendance is essential to meet program and student needs. Preferred Skills & Abilities Master's degree in Education, Adult Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field. • Strong computer literacy, including the use of spreadsheets, word processing, and database systems. • Experience with alternative instructional methods, including computer-assisted learning, blended learning, and online delivery platforms. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in maintaining program records, student data, and grant compliance documentation. • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional strategies for diverse, non-traditional learners. • Work experience in a community college or higher education setting, particularly in adult basic education or workforce development programs. • Proficiency with educational technology tools and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Essential Education). • Knowledge of federal and state adult education grant requirements, including WIOA, measurable skill gains (MSGs), and performance-based funding models. • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with community partners, employers, and external agencies. • Demonstrated commitment to equity, student success, and supporting underrepresented populations.
