Job Description PURPOSE OF POSITION: Provide adequate training and development to Gotham's Financial Counselors and Registration Staff to ensure all financial goals are strategically implemented and executed in a uniformed manner. To implement a standard pre-registration workflow for all ambulatory care departments in order to secure visits, prepare for televisits, streamline check-in and improve the patient experience. Implement standard work flow to all Financial Counselors. Provide in person/virtual training to all of Gotham sites. Review work flows and work ques to ensure revenue optimization. It plays an integral part in assisting the Finance Department to provide necessary accounting information for strategic reporting. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES: • Financial Counseling • Registration • Revenue Retention • Patient Retention • Revenue Opportunity SUMMARY: • Results driven • Extreme attention to detail and excellent organizational skills • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment • Must be able to multitask • Must be able to effectively communicate with staff members and management DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Train Employees on standard procedures for checking a patient in EPIC and having the prescreening conversation about insurances in order to determine the patient's needs • Train Gotham staff to review patient account records to insure patient's insurance are properly set up to be billed; • Participate in cross functional department projects • Serve as back up for the sites when necessary • 50% Travel between sites • Track daily Patient Retention Specialist volume (patient appointments, telephone calls) • Collaborate with registration to ensure appointments were completed • Train and mentor new hires • Manage Work Queues • Facilitates team meetings as necessary • Manages Care-Gaps across Gotham • Manages Pilot Pre-Registration Team for all Gotham sites • Assist with creating and updating Registration/Financial Counseling Policies & Procedures • Performs other duties as assigned by the Deputy Chief Finance Officer or Chief Finance Officer • Centralize the Registration and Financial Counseling Process Minimum Qualifications 1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling; and one (1) year of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment; or 2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines listed in 1 above; and two (2) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment; or 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience, in which each year of relevant training and/or experience can be substituted for 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university. However, all applicants must at least have a Bachelor's degree or its educational equivalent. Department Preferences Three (3) years of full-time experience, including two (2) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations, as listed or 5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Note: Certification or licensure may be required.
