- Oversees the preparation of meals.
- Executes and maintains an efficient, economical and nutritious food service program.
- Receives and supervises the food donations and makes arrangements for the storage of food products and other materials necessary to the food service operations.
- Monitors that only the highest standard of quality is maintained in the production of the daily meals.
- Monitors that all kitchen sanitation and safety regulations are observed at all times.
- Monitors costs of needed raw materials.
- Monitors portion control, waste and maintains appropriate levels of needed inventory.
- Manages volunteer teams in the preparation and serving of meals. Coordinates with Night Shelter Person for breakfast.
- Participates in training volunteers in areas related to job description.
- Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of basic nutrition, common recipes and cooking methods for large groups.
- Ability to respond to emergency and crisis situations per agency procedures.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license.
- Knowledge of the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
- Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:Pay: $19.00 per hour Training: We provide a robust training curriculum that will support our employees throughout their career.
