Description Outdoor Adventure Retreats is seeking a skilled and experienced cook to join our team to run The Fire Ant Café at Wanee Lake Golf & RV Park in Ashburn, Georgia. The ideal candidate should be able to reliably commute to Wanee Lake, possess a ServSafe certificate and have at least 2 years of cooking experience. Compensation & Hours: $10-$12/hr base pay based on experience, plus tips. ~15-20 hours per week on Saturdays and Sundays only. Job Duties: 1. Food Preparation:

  • Prepare a variety of dishes following established recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Ensure all food items are cooked and presented according to the cafe's quality standards.
  • Adhere to proper food safety and sanitation practices, including temperature controls, storage, and hygiene.
2. Menu Development:
  • Collaborate with management to create and update the cafe's menu, incorporating new and innovative dishes.
  • Make recommendations for menu improvements based on customer feedback and industry trends.
3. Cooking Techniques:
  • Grill, fry, bake, and sauté various ingredients to create dishes that meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor and adjust cooking methods to achieve the desired taste and texture of food items.
4. Inventory Management:
  • Assist in monitoring and managing kitchen inventory, ensuring that ingredients and supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Notify management of any low stock or equipment issues.
5. Cleanliness and Organization:
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations regularly.
6. Customer Service:
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth food service.
  • Address customer inquiries and special requests courteously and promptly.
Requirements:
  • ServSafe Certificate: Must have a valid ServSafe certificate to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a cook.
  • Availability: Ability to work during the cafe's operating hours, which include weekends and some evenings.
  • Be able to pass a background check
  • Have a great attitude and work ethic
  • Be a team player willing to pitch in on other miscellaneous tasks that may arise
