Job Functions ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Meets all incoming customers
- Performs spot checks on incoming loads and ensures materials are acceptable
- Directs customers with overloaded vehicles to the transfer station
- Coordinates traffic flow between the convenience center and the transfer station
- Answers questions from users and the general public
- Prepares and maintains a variety of records pertaining to daily operations, such as number of vehicles entering landfill, use of dumpsters and recycling containers, etc.
- Monitors use of the dumpster outside the landfill gate, and ensures dumpsters are only used for household trash
- Pull and empty dumpsters when full
- Supervises Community Diversification workers
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Cleans the scale house and adjoining bathroom
- Performs related duties as required
Qualifications Education and Experience:Education equivalent to a high school diploma. Experience performing data entry and retrieval preferred, not required. Special Qualifications:Must possess satisfactory results of a criminal history background check. Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver's license; CDL license preferred. Must work some weekends.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
