JOB DESCRIPTION
One of our automotive clients is looking for a Controls Engineer in Toledo, OH.
Duration: 12- months position (May go Longer)
Shift –First Shift (07:00 AM to 03:00 PM Mon- Fri)
Job Responsibilities
- Development and improvement of processes along with developing the most productive/cost effective method of manufacture.
- Create detailed work instructions, operate and set up procedures.
- Utilize lean manufacturing techniques.
- Develop and maintain process sheets, PFMEAs and control plans.
- Develop and maintain IATF 16949 documentation and develop and improve manufacturing processes.
- APQP participation - includes attendance at key program meetings and participation in new product launch management.
- PPAP facilitation and application of statistical techniques.
- Assist with problem solving and quality concern resolution.
- Communicate with customers as necessary on problem resolution, customer performance rating improvement, etc.
- Evaluate pareto data and champion projects to reduce scrap
- Communicate with machine builders to optimize machine layout and strategy
- Assist in supplier development as required
- Assist with process improvements and data analysis
- Visit plants, customers and suppliers periodically on a variety of issues.
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications & Skills
- BS in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
- Four to six years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Robotics and PLC knowledge is a plus
- Thorough understanding IATF 16949 familiarities with DQLP/MBNQA criteria and industrial engineering principles.
- Experience with PFMEA, DOE and process improvements preferred
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision.
- Computer proficiency in a Windows environment utilizing Microsoft Office
- Self-directed individual with excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent attendance with no history of discipline.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple duties and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Good decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently; self-motivated to manage through shift priorities and issues.
