Job Title: Controls Engineer Job ID: 81720 Location: Fulton, New York Overview: An exciting opportunity for a Controls & Electrical Design Engineer to take ownership of designing advanced control systems for continuous web handling machinery. This role blends hands-on engineering with cross-functional collaboration, offering a chance to work on cutting-edge industrial automation projects from concept through commissioning. What you will be doing:

• Design custom control systems for high-performance machinery based on client specifications
• Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and documentation packages
• Assist in drafting and design tasks alongside senior engineers
• Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Support assembly, purchasing, and field service teams with technical guidance
• Participate in project team meetings and design reviews
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to efficient project execution
• Travel (up to 10%) for customer visits, vendor coordination, and onsite commissioning
• Support quality and safety standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EHS&S)

What you must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience designing controls and electrical systems for automated machinery
• Expertise in closed-loop drives and high-speed servo applications
• Hands-on experience with VFDs, HMI programming (RSView ME/SE or Wonderware), and SCADA systems
• Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs (Siemens is a plus)
• Skilled in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools
• Strong communication skills-both written and verbal
